2014 snap menu

Hello,

With MBUTTONPAN set to off (0), the middle mouse button will display the snap menu instead of pan. I have always used the menu to quickly select whichever snap I need at the time.

I noticed that Mechanical 2014 is behaving funny in this area. When using the middle button, it will not shown the mnemonic. If I CTRL+right click, it will show the mnemonic.

I use the "Insert" often and it's frustrating that I cannot simply hit the S (on keyboard) to quickly select this option because as you can see, it's in conflict with the other option "Insert (Structure)".

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks,

Devin

On my 2015 it doesn't show mnemonics in either fashion...

Considered just assigning button shortcuts?

This is actually controlled by the Windows System.  To have the mnemonic underscores to always be on, you will want to navigate to your Control Panel (Windows 7).  Then click on "Ease of Access" then on "Change how your keyboard works".  Here you will want to check the box next to "Underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys" under the "Make it easier to use keyboard shortcuts" header and click Apply.

If this resolves your inquiry, please check "Accept as Solution"

Wow thanks for that. This solves the issue re mnemonics not being visible.

Is there a way to fix the conflict between Insert and Insert (Structure) ? With my left hand resting on keyboard and right on mouse, I usually press S to quickly select the Insert option from snap menu. The conflict is forcing me to either:

move either hand to press Enter on keyboard

or

to manually select the option from snap menu using the mouse

Pressing S again will cycle between Insert and Insert (Structure) but this doesn't help.

To illustrate how fast it can be with keyboard, you can try pressing E to quickly select "Endpoint" and the snap menu will immediately get out of the way and let you continue work on the drawing.
