variable for layout tabs

Hey all, 

I'm trying to figure out how to get the tabs to work on ACAD MAP 3D. Isn't there a variable? Right now, If I have to make another tab, I erase the viewport I have and create a whole new sheet in paper space. Also, whenever I open a new .dwg file, a whole new drawing opens up and I have a bunch of dwg's opened at the same time.

I'm sorry, but ACAD 2013 has a lot of differences than 2009.

If I understand well, maybe you haven't the Tabs !?

So OPTIONS / "Display" Tab / Lower Left Rectangle "Layout Elements"

Please ENABLE an option like "Display Model & Layouts"
