Textunmask Problem

Greetings,
I masked some text, erased the text, but I can't get rid of the masks. How do I select it in order to get rid of it?
Thanks
Pat

Have you used the "Unmask Text" Express Tool?
The masks will also show up, if you choose
Modify-->Object-->Image-->Frame, and then turn the frame option
"on".

Yes, I tried to use the text unmask, but remember that I erased the text first, so only the white masking was left. I made sure that frames were ON and that still doesn't help. I still have these white patches and I cant get rid of them. I even tried to see if they were in paper space, wheich they don't seem to be.
Thanks for your response.'

Hi Patrick.  Interestingly enough, I cannot
duplicate your problem. How did you manage to erase the text without erasing
the text mask?  When I erase the text, the text mask goes with it
automatically.  Sorry, I don't have a solution yet, I am trying to get to
your problem first.

Greetings again,
Sorry it took me so long, but I have been doing fieldwork.
I see what you mean about duplicating the problem. I forget exactly how I deleted the text, but I can duplicate the problem by using the Express selection set. If I select some separate text on the same layer via Express>Selection Tools>Get selection set, then Edit>Cut>P, the text will disappear but the mask will still be there. You have to have a contrasting background for the mask to show up. There is no way that I can find to select the mask to delete it.
