setting a background color for printing

is it possible in Autocad Map to set a background printing color, that is, a color behind the entities within the map. In straight autocad, i have had to put a color solid fill behind my map to do this.

Hi,

That's the way how I would do that too. As long as you don't work with rendering of 3D-objects there is no option for a "plot-background-color" at all.

Here's an old-school workaround to this issue, gentlemen.

  1. in the Plotter Manager install the "TIFF Uncompressed" Autodesk Printer
  2. run the _PLOT command, choose that virtual printer as output, set a very high output resolution
  3. enter the Custom Properties as follows:

  4. if everything went fine, you get something like this:

can you still set your graphics "overwrite" to dislplay the other colors within your line work? Thanks for that great suggestion

I beg your pardon, sir, but my English is too poor to understand your question.

Would you please elaborate it..?

certainly. The I am only seeing black lines on top of a gold background. If I have my lines set to specific colors, I am assuming that they will still work.
