Schema for Oracle

I have now successfully connected to an Oracle database.

However i receive an error message saying the Oracle schema is not valid for Autodesk Map 3D.

Currently i cannot find what schema Autodesk is after, and therefore hopefully do a schema translation of my database so that Map3d will recognise it.

Can someone put me a direction of a white paper, or more information on the Oracle schema that Map 3D wants

Many thanks

Hello TJMArtin,

So what type of connection have you made to Oracle?
OSE?
FDO?
ODBC?

What type of data is already in Oracle that you are attempting to retrieve?

Hi,

Map has a very specific schema for the support of Oracle Spatial features in
either OSE or FDO - it will not read simple geometry fields without the
other CAD supporting fields e.g. for layer, lineweight, etc etc etc.

IME have a tool for 'mapping' any existing spatial geometry into Oracle
views that mimic the OSE schema allowing you read-access to any existing
schema of data. There were once rumours of Autodesk providing a similar
tool for creating the (undocumented) XML format the FDO requires to link to
foreign (ie existing) schemas but I have not seen any more of this.

Regards,

Crispin
