Ribbon Hotfix

Map crashed on me and I have now received an email saying there is a technical solution available - namely the SP1 Ribbon Hotfix.

The page for this solution says the fix is for various products including AutoCAD® Map 3D 2012

It also says that the 2012 Service Pack 1 must be installed before the hotfix but the SP1 page says that the service pack only applies to AutoCAD® 2012

So the question is can I install 2012 SP1 and if I can't why issue a hotfix for Map when it can't be installed because SP1 isn't available
