Re: "Failed to Describe Class" Error

I do have Zoom levels on things like hydrants and valves (about 12000 together, viewable from about 1:15000), but to hide water mains from full zoom would not make sense. I have ended up creating 3 maps for each of our systems and it does seem to take much longer for the "failed to describe class" to come up, but what if i need something with everything on it? I have tried to condense a lot of the features into single SDF's as I was connecting to quite a few, but that did not seem to help...............Murph I am just West of Atlanta, don't really want to just throw the resellers name out. There are only 2 in the area.

If you're west of Atlanta then you're just on the
edge of another reseller than may be of use.

Can't make any promises and have not  kept up
on this thread but give me a holler if you want.

I might just take you up on that.

Trying to upgrade from map '08 to '09. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Just a heads up. We upgraded to '09 and had the same issues, plus more. Not sure what it was, but I'm back to '08 and eventually going to Topobase '09. I guess we'll see how that goes.

Just an Update.

I installed SQL 2008 Express, which is a free version, and bulk copied all my SDF and database data to it. I have refreshed, checked out/in, updated, saved, and purposely crashed dozens and dozens of times with none of the errors above.

It is huge to be able to fix this problem for only the cost of learning SQL.

Its now just a matter of getting it setup for multiple users.
