Proportional symbol, gradient symbol, bubbles?

Are any of these possible with this program. I have points that need to have circle sizes around them based on a data value. I know that I can do it with ArcMap in 5 seconds. I'm starting to wonder if it can do anything like this because I'm getting no response.

Yes, it is possible.
Maybe some of us are busy with paying customers this week (or months in my
case) to post a lengthily reply on how to do it.

I understand people have lives but I have asked this before and didn't get a response. I did a buffer and was happy with that until I realized that if you have 2 points that are close that it will just make it one buffer instead of two individuals. A bit off topic but how can I leave comments on your blog? I had some questions about creating a surface using the civil toolbar with map. As far as I know, civil toolbar was removed after map 2006. Thanks for the help.

To leave a comment you need to set up a wordpress account (free and spam
free as long as I had one). The reason is it keeps all the spam off my blog.

Now back to you question. What version are you using and what method are you
creating the data/features? If you use feature data when you style the
points you can use a feature property value to scale the symbol. If its
AutoCAD entities with OD attached an alter property query will scale
circles (points do not have a scale).

Well I was pretty sure that features could do it but if we could use autocad entities then that would be the way we would want to do it. I'm using map 2007 and 2008.

Take a look at this dwg.
The blocks are scaled by the OD field called ports. Only quick dwg I have on
had to demo it but it shows it can be done using the old ways.

I see that there is an object data table with a field named ports. I'm not seeing how the blocks are getting that information in order to determine the scale. Do I have to insert points from a shapefile and use a block to represent the points? I'm lost on this. Thanks for your help.

That's how I created that sample yes, but if order to see how the scaling
works based on the blocks, in the display manager select the Hyd-scaled
layer (a symbol layer) and look at the properties. I'll write up a better
explaintion in a few days, I'm busy doing some Civil3D rendering(s) the next
few days.

BTW if you have a small sample of what you are working with sent it to me
and I'll use that for the example.

We have to make some proportional symbols that represent how much gas our well produce. I made a bunch of points where our wells our, gave them object data, then exported them to a shapefile. I then took that shapefile and imported it and selected my block to be used as the points. Then I attached this drawing to a new one and imported the blocks with the scale based off one of the fields we put together. It was very easy but if I would have tried to figure it out on my own it would have taken a few days. Heck, I probably would have never found it. Thanks again.

Check my blog in a few days, now that I'm back at the home base I'll have
some time to update a few things on it. I will show you how to save some
steps that you said you did, a few are not needed. :0
