Problem in some dialog box Map 3D tools

Good Morning.

I am having the following problem in C3D 2015 and Map 2015:

Some tools from Map 3D does not open the corresponding dialog box.
The options appear on the command line as below pictures:

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Anyone know what this is?

It is a variable filedia system.

The software has been updated correctly.

Thank you

Adriana

Adriana,

It sure looks like FILEDIA. What is yours set to?

Hi,

for map commands, verify variable CMDDIA is set to 1

No way, Olivier: it's a matter of missing "Support File Search Path" in the _OPTIONS interface, trust me.

I go with Olivier and say CMDDIA = 1.

Gentlemen, seems like me versus you all: in my humble opinion, the solution is this one, no doubt about it...

Antonio,

I think there are two problems here. The "Define Object Data" problem, well, that one looks like CMDDIA, although I don't understand that command at all. The second problem, "Attach/Detach Object Data", I think you're onto something and I agree with you.

Stay a rebel, Antonio. m1731.gif

Hello

1) You must have : CMDDIA = 1

2) And you must have the Support File Path :

If ACAD MAP US/English :   C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\Map\Support\en-US

If ACAD MAP French:          C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\Map\Support\fr-FR

etc ...

Pat,

I bet in the Adriana's Autocad the variable CMDDIA is already set at 1, and do you know why?

Just because she wrote "Some tools..." don't work by GUI: if it would be set at 0, every tool should not work by GUI...

Hello Antonio

I imagine you bet RIGHT !

But they are so many special PATHs with MAP 2015 !?

Look at my MAP 2015 French Paths which are a little bit different with a MAP US/English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, etc ...

Please let me know your same Italian image !

Antonio,

I found this in the 2015 Help Section, >>Here<<:

Dialog boxes do not appear for various Map commands in Civil 3D 2015
Nov 06, 2014

Issue:

When using some Map3D commands within Civil 3D 2015, no dialog box are displayed despite the fact that FILEDIA and CMDDIA are set to 1.
Commands such as: ADEQUERY, MAPOPTIONS, MAPTHMOBJ, MAPTHEMTOPO, MAPBOUNDARY, MAPTRIM, MAPCLPLINE are affected, displaying their message on the command line instead of inside a dialog box

Causes:

This may happen when your Civil 3D profile does not include the Map support folders in the File Search Path.

Solution:

To work around this issue, make sure the path to the ade.dcl file is set in the Support File Search Path.

  1. On the command line type _OPTIONS
  2. Go to the Files tab and expand the section Support File Search Path
  3. Add the path : C:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2015\map\support\en-us
  4. Apply, and close the OPTIONS dialog box
  5. Restart Civil 3D (a restart IS needed)
Note: for non english version, adapt the path to your local language (de-de, fr-fr,...)
In case you are unsure, locate the file ade.dcl from your root installation folder with a search, this will give you the path to add in point 3)

Products:

AutoCAD Civil 3D

2015

Hello

I am a stupid boy because I know this bug ! ... Thks to Mr PointDump !

I was focusing on ACAD MAP but the problem is on ACAD CIVIL and if the MAP paths (specific for each language) are not correct, you will have problems (on CIVIL) with many MAP commands: MAPOPTIONS, MAPTRIM, ADEQUERY, etc

So please look at the right CIVIL 2015 FRENCH paths !

You must adapt the paths to an US/English, Italian, Spanish, German, etc ACAD CIVIL ...

Dear Dave & Pat,

I'm saying it's a path issue since my very first post in this thread, so I'm glad you're (slowly) beginning to understand what's up...

The support file path issues is one for Civil3D not having the path for the map3d tool(s). CMDDIA effects some of the map tools that are still from the old days and not updated to the newer dot net prorgaming, IE the Object data tools and a few others that i can't recall right now.

I've been looking for this solution as well (and I've just posted a request for help).

In my case I was missing the Define Query Dialog Box.

The reply by Dave Stoll (Pointdump) hit the mark.

For some reason the pointer to the Map Support folder does not seem to be automatically included in the support files list when you install Civil 3D.

As soon as I added this pointer up popped the dialog box.

Problom solved.

Thanks all.
