Printing Problems

I am using Map 2008/2009 with an HP 5000 Color Printer.
When I print extremely large maps with MrSid aerial imagery I sometimes get errors. Usually it prints, but sometimes it will leave elements off the print. Very inconsistent.
I have another HP 450C that has an option to process the project in the computer to solve out of memory problems.
I would appreciate any suggestions (software/printer) how to fix the problem.
Thanks in advance.
L.G.

I have the same problem with drawings that have large aerial photographs inserted, part of the drawing would not plot. I tried decreasing the quality to lower the resolution. In the end I had to print the drawing as a PFD then plot from the PFD file.
If you find a way to get the plotter to work with the large files, I would like to hear as well. Message was edited by: gdunford@converseconsu

I have the same issue with our HP 500.
If I try to plot rasters at a large scale on large paper size, I will get a crash and lose the job or will only print part of the imagery, I was told highly compressed formats such as ECW jp2k, etc are susceptable to this. Adesk was aware of this issue in 2008. I know cause I spent hours attempting to work this one through.
The only thing you can do is hope for a fix in the next SP or plot to a dwf and then print from the dwf. Note with rasters your DWF files can get large!

All the best

It helped me. Hopefully it can help others with this problem.
