Own maps in GPS

is it possible to create a map with map 3d and then exporting it to format that can be imported into a GPS for personaliced maps?

Depends on what format the GPS unit uses or can import.

What are you wanting to do?
You can get the low cost hunting fishing grade GPS units that will import a
bmp file as a base map, or a engineering grade GPS unit that can import dxf
format and anything in-between.

I even had a laptop that used a $79 GPS chip inside Design Review to track
locations using a dwf file.

Just save the dwg as a dxf from the save as command, or mapexport to ESRI
shape file(s).

No tutorial other than plot to DWF with map options and assigned coordinates
from model tab.
Connecting a GPS unit to your Design Review is trial and error on finding
the correct port.

In design review try automatic selection for the port but understand there are limitations depending upon the GPS unit.
"Garmin Spanner" is a program designed to create a virtual serial port for some Garmin GPS devices that use USB for connections and require NMEA 0183 and is a workaround if your GPS unit uses USB and will not recognize the unit. We use design review as mobile mapping and it has worked well but GPS coverage is not always available depending upon reception and obstructions. The nice thing about design review is that it is an end product for Autocad Map which can convert many different formats into dwg and then dwf or dwfx depending upon the application. There are many options when plotting to dwf that could affect the usefulness of the file and is worth the research.
