I've been getting the following errors for quite a while. I've re-installed/repaired a number of times and it seems to fix the problem the first couple times I open Autocad but then it goes right back to giving me these errors. I also have ArcGIS 9.3.1 installed. These two pieces of software don't seem to play well together.
All the error messages occur during start up after the splash screen and before the file actually opens.
The errors are...
Error #1
AutoCAD Message
“base.dcl”
Can’t find file.
OK
Error #2
AutoCAD Message
Error loading dialog control file.
OK
Error #3
AutoCAD Message
Semantic error(s) in DCL file acadmap.dcl.
See file acad.dce for details.
OK
Error #4
AutoCAD
Catalog file ‘C;\Documents and Settings\ajlowery\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD Map 3D 2009\R17.2\enu\Support\AcFields.fdc’ is not found.
OK
Error #5
AutoCAD Message
Semantic error(s) in DCL file ade.dcl.
See file acad.dce for details.
OK
Any ideas for a permanent fix? I don't think another repair/reinstall will do it.
Thanks
Toney
I tried to check my old e-mails to see if I could find anything that our IT and/or GIS guys could come up with. Unfortunately we switched email clients somewhere after I was having this problem so I'll have to rely on memory.
I THINK I did a full, clean install of both Arcmap and Autocad. However it may have been one of those things that worked itself out with various updates to both programs. I Know for certain that I deleted any files from older versions of Autocad. The program directory had setting/preferences/etc from a couple older versions of Autocad.
Good luck
Toney
