Mobile Autodesk product to sync information with Design Server?

Hi.

I'm planning to acquire AutoCAD Map 3D and Design Server, but I also need a mobile solution to sync the information with my PDA and the server.

Is there any solution within Autodesk products? I've heard about Topobase, but I'm not sure if it offers a mobile solution. Must I acquire Topobase instead of AutoCAD Map 3D?

Thank you very much. Edited by: macwind on Feb 15, 2010 5:57 PM

Well, here goes, the standard IT answer.

"It depends."

What flavor/OS PDA are you dealing with?

I think the current methodology is web-based, as in MapGuide, for a mobile solution.

Topobase is primarily a specific set of data models and adds some rulle-based object placement with Oracle as a back-end. I'm not sure you would use both GIS Design Server and Topobase together - they are more like different flavors of the same basic technology.

I guess the other question is GIS Design Server still an ongoing, in development product? I don't hear much about it, and the info on autodesk.com is a bit dated and sparse.

Yea wonder that too and wonder what the OP means when they stated " I'm
planning to "acquire" AutoCAD Map 3D and Design Server".
