I have two SDF fileswith simpley polygon, lets say parcels boundary
in the A.sdf, each feature has 10 feature data properties, i.e. taxid, owner, zone, value etc
in the B.sdf, each feature has 3 feature data properties i.e. area, layer, colour
I would like to move all the features from B.sdf to A.sdf, however
at the least I need to ensure that features moved from B.sdf now has the same number (10)of feature data properties as in A.SDF
Only solution I could come up with is to
import A.sdf file into Map3D so that I have a datatable.
erase all the features,
then B.sdf file and use the attach data to attach the table data to each feature
then output to A.sdf using append.
there must be a better method, any suggestion
If they both have a common ID, you can connect to both, then join the two. You can then either work with them in a joined state or export to a new file with all 13 fields.
Clarify - are the polygons from the the same source with different data - i.e one on top of the other or are the polygons seperated in space
sdf b does or does not have the ten other OD? or just the three?
if set b aligns on top of set a an intersection will give the result in the intersection output
if the sets don't align _mapimport both sets with the data and _mapexport with all the data to one new sdf
I tried the bulk copy, and did not get the desired results.
for one, although A.SDF has all the feature data from B.sdf it has not merged into the resident Schema.
A.sdf , schema "Parcels_North" over a dozen feature properties
B.sdf schema "Parcels" about three feature properties
after the bulk copy in A.SDF I have both Schemas
ultimately I woul like just one "Parcels_North"
as an FYI A.sdf is from the county and B.sdf is created by Civil 3D
