Map5: acadmap.ini showing up in every directory that I open a file in

I just upgraded to Map 5, and I've noticed that it automatically creates an
acadmap.ini file in any directory that I open a file in (by double clicking
in explorer). This holds true for all drawing files - even those that I'm
not using map features in. I can manually set the default query directory,
but opening a file in another directory automatically changes it.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a known workaround?
