Map Import - Insufficient Memory Error

When I try to import a large shape file of contours
for a whole county I get an insufficient memory error. Then it boots me out of
AutoCAD. I have 1G of memory on my computer and I believe it should be able to
handle it. Does anyone got a suggestion??

You may need to change the Virtual Memory setting on your computer. Use
your Windows help. You may also need to reset your swap file size.
