Map Explorer Help

I need some help using Map Explorer. I have an Access Database attached under "Data Sources", shows that my table is there and properly working. I have a polygon topology created which works. I have link templates linking my text inside my closed polygons to a column in my databse containig a parcel id. Is there a way I can query certain data out of my database (ex: I have a column in my databse named status. It shows the status of the vacant land in our city to either be "C" for City owned vacant land or "P" for Private owned vacant land") and have it displayed as a hatch. I want to show all status "C" parcels one color and all status "P" parcels another. Is this something that is possible and do I make sense? Thanks

Possible yes, one of the main reason that AutoCAD Map was created for.
Look at creating themes of dwg objects in the help files.
