Is anyone else having the following problem when exporting shapefiles in Map2014 or Civil2014. Im able to import but when i go to export it gives me the following error... Export did not succeed.
I've tried the Providers.xml file replacement but that didn't helped.
What kind of objects are you trying to _MAPexport, sir?
If you draw a line in an empty drawing, could you export it to a shapefile?
im trying to export lines using the _mapexport command. I tried drawing a line in a blank drawing and assigning LL84 coordinate system and i'm still getting same error.
Hi,
>> im trying to export lines
Did you try that also with polylines?
If you assigned LL84, what coordinates do you lines have? Are they within the LL84 limits?
Can you upload that sample drawing?

Sample drawing attached. I imported lines fine, but when i try to export it's giving me the same error. Drawing is in NAD27 UTM15 Zone.
It works for me flawlessly - check the attachment out.
Try instead the undocumented _MAPEXPORT4 command: any changes?
Hi,
look to the attached data, is that correct?
I used Map3D2014SP1 (on Win7x64), command _MAPEXPORT and assigned LL84 in the dialog tab "Options"
Have you installed SP1? What OS are you working with?
Can you make screenshots of all tabs of _MAPEXPORT and show them?
[EDIT] ... well, having no problems with upload makes 4min difference 😉 [/EDIT]

PS: I could not upload the ZIP with the correct extension, so I renanamed it, please rename it back to ShpLL84.zip
Here's what im using... purchased Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite Premium 2014 which comes with the following add-ons Civil 3d 2014, Map 2014. Im running on Win7 Pro 64bit with service pack 1 for both programs. Attached are the screenshots. I've also tried on 2013 Civil 3d and same error happening there too. I tried from my co-workers PC and it works fine.... Might need to re-install.

That's weird, meine Liebe: sounds like you used a compressor not Autodesk-compatible...
This forum allows a lot of escort ads, but not your helpful files...

Yep, run a repair install first and don't forget to exchange the PROVIDERS.XML then again.
Let's know if that does not help.
You might also try to login with another user-account to your Windows and try the export again, just to make sure it's not depending on your profile.

i tried creating a new user account and it worked just fine...I'll try repair and see if that helps.
Hi,

So you don't need to repair the software, just repair your user-settings.
Start with exporting the profile (from the new user) and import it in your current user account (I mean the AutoCAD profile).
You can also look to the user-specific folders, copy the ones from the new user to the current user.
Good luck, - alfred -
I also can't find a way to correctly export AutoCAD linework to a shapefile. Here is what "Help" has to say: In the Planning and Analysis Workspace, click Output Tab>Map Data transfer panel>Map 3DExport. (Here it shows an icon of a page with an arrow pointing to the riight). However, this icon is NOT in the panel at all. My options are: To FDO Connection, Current Map to DWG, As Image or As SDF 2. None of these are what I want. I guess FDO is the closest, but what I really need is a simple shapefile with all of its components. Finding a workaround is going to be a major waste of time. Thanks in advance,
Susan
Hi Murph,
It finally happened: I succumbed to the siren call of the Ribbon. I forgot my keyboard/command line roots. Thanks for the reminder, which worked. Sometimes I wish there was a glossary of legacy commands. Thanks.
