Map 2009 Map Import command

I receive the following message after running this command

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Map 3D 2009\AcMapImpExpUI.arx cannot find a dll or
other file that it needs.
Unknown command "MAPIMPORT".

The same error happened many times in our AcadMap (2004, 2006, 2007), so I'd
think it is not AcadMap2009 specific issue. It seems some Windows updates
causes this, but not very certain. Each time we do the Acad repair that
fixed it.

What is the acad repair?

From the windows start button >Control Panel > Add/remove programs > Click
on AutoCAD MAP3D Click on Add Remove Select repair install when the dialog
pops open.
Have the original CDs handy it may ask for them.

Hey Guys,
I have the same error message but I'm running 2008. I have done a repair which didnt fix it and a uninstall reinstall whic hasnt worked either.
What are my options from here?

On my computer this seems to be related to using FME workbench.  When another user on the network is using the FME license I get the AcMapImpExpUI.arx message.  When he exits FME I can use Import/Export again.  Also, my Autocad Map 2011 session sometimes ties up the FME license.  I don't have this issue on my other computer, which does not use FME.

I am with Safe Software - makers of FME.  We are looking into this issue you mentioned where the availability of your FME license seems to cause this problem. Please feel free to send the details into to support@safe.com.  I will post any new information here as well.
