Making grid lines look like hand drafting

I am working wit a structural grid of perp. lang dash, two short dash, lines that are of different lengths. The breaks do not align, and where the lines cross they do not always visually intersect. Is there any way to make handels so I can change the lenght of the long dashes, while keeping the spacing, and lenth of the short dashes consistant? Or if this is not possible in this linetype, but is possible in another suitable for a structural grid, that information would be helpful as well. Thanks

If you're trying to vary the individual long dashes, the
short answer is no, you cannot do that with linetypes.  You could create a
linetype that has 4 or 5 of the long dashes, varying however like, with the
short dashes in between.  While not 'random' at all, it might give you
acceptable results.
