lookup lists in Map 6?

I plan on using Map 6 to convert utility data into a dwg. I have an Access database attached as a data source and have created a link templates. How do I create lookup lists (pick lists) that limit the values that can be entered? I have tried creating the lookup lists in Access, but Map doesn't seem to utilize them. I have also entered a range of values in the feature class area. Unfortunately, it limits the values but doesn't provide a picklist. Also, the values don't seem to be limited when using the Data View interface to change attributes.

Any help would be appreciated. I've spent many hours on this, but feel like I hit a brick wall!!!

Thanks,
Jason

Unfortunately, Map Dataview does not support Look Up Tables - this has been
a wish list item for a while now. The only alternative is to create your
own Dataview through customization.
