Keep losing my digitizer board while digitizing

I'm running on an Asus A7V8X with Athlon 2400+ processor,
512MB DDR PC2700 mem and Asus Magic V9180 video.
I'm using AutoCad 2002 Map6 and after I start digitizing for about 20 minutes, I lose my ability to continue digitizing and have to reboot computer in order to turn
tablet back on. Also, I'm using a cordless 16 button mouse.
Any suggestions?
