Is there a way to import LD contours into R14, Map 2000i or 2002?

Is there any way to import contours created in Land Design into R14, Map 2000i or 2002? We do not have the Land Design software. A drawing was sent to us which contains contours produced using LD. I also do not know which LD version produced the drawing. We must be able to import and use the contours to produce a new drawing. I know all of this is probably a stab in the dark, but any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I am fairly sure that the contours will appear as
polylines with a Z-elevation in Map; however you won't be able to use them for
creating or rendering a surface in Map. If the LDDD drawing had just a DTM
definition you cannot see that in Map. However if you just want the contours and
labels and someone has created them in LDD there should be no
problem.

What happens when you open the drawing? In newer
versions of Map you might get a message about proxy objects, but the information
should still appear.

Cheers,

David

If the contours are in fact LDD not old Softdesk or something from another
package, I believe you can solve this problem with the object enabler.
The enabler is a download available at Autodesk. The help file states:

The Land Object Enabler implements the following functionality for the
Contour Object:

LIST
DXFIN/DXFOUT
ERASE
EXPLODE
MIRROR
MOVE
COPY
ROTATE
SCALE
WBLOCK
TRIM/EXTEND
BREAK
Snap points
Grip points on contour vertices and/or labels

Therefore, you should be able to explode the contours once the enabler is
installed.
