Inserted images are not editable/selectable

About half the time I nsert an image into a drwaing I am not able to edit or
select the image, i.e. for erasing. I am inserting these into prototypes
that I have created. If I insert the same images into "new" drawings created
from the acad.dwg I don't have this problem. However this defeats the
purpose of custom prototypes. I am using Autocad Map 4. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin,

Perhaps your imageframe variable is set to off..? Other than that, I'm not sure if I understand or can help you.

Kameron,

Image frame is on.  My problem is that I can see the image, but I
can't erase or edit it.  When I try to select it, Autocad doesn't
recognize it.

Have you tried to increase the memony allotted for images in MAP.
Map>Images>options?
Are the files read only?
Can't think of anything else.

I'll give that a try. However, I have had success and failure using the
same image.

Thank you all for trying to help me.
