Importing ArcView data to Map 6

We just got Map 6 because we need data from a city that is in ArcView format. I assume it is ArcView format as the data is *.apr, *.e00, arc.dir, arc*.dat, arc*.nit, *.adf, *.tat, *.txt, *.txx format.

I try the Map/Import feature, and seem to only get the linework. How can I get the rest of the data?

Thanks in advance, mck

Well you have quite an assortment of files there. An .apr is an ArcView
3.x Project file which can be a compilation of numerous shapefiles, tables, text
files etc...

The .e00 files are Arc Info coverage files. You are going to need to
determine which items you want to import and then bring them in seperately.
For instance, when you import a shapefile(.shp) the import function displays
a little table showing what shapefiles are available along with a check
box which you can decide to uncheck or not. In the data column you want
to click in it to activate the elipse which allows you access to the attribute
data(.dbf table) where you can select which data you' like to bring in
with your shapefile. Since you're new to Map6 you really need to take your
time and read the on-line help for importing. Sorry I don't have more time
to explain it further.

Hope it helps.

Just to follow up on what Mark stated.  You
have what appears to be ArcView 3.x Project
file,
ArcINFO coverage, as well as, a
.e00 file (ARC/INFO interchange file).
Autodesk Map can import a variety of files, but not all at
once.  Please see TS72235
href="http://support.autodesk.com/getdoc.asp?id=TS72235">http://support.autodesk.com/getdoc.asp?id=...

for a listing of supported import file types (same for Autodesk Map
6).  Besides the Autodesk Map help, which is fairly comprehensive in
version 6, you might want to take a look at the following solutions: They were
authored for Map 5, but the concepts are the same.
