Import polygon shp files, querying data onto polygons

After importing a polygon shape file and querying to get data onto each polygon, I have data that ends up in the wrong place. I don't know how map determines where to put each label, but they usually end up at the center of the mass of the polygon. This can actually cause the labels to be inside the wrong polygon. Smaller polygons within larger polygons often get two labels. Any help greatly appreciated.

By experience I saw that (if you use Map 2000 or
2000i) it's better to use MAPIMPORT4 command to import shp files rather than
MAPIMPORT.

I don't know why, but MAPIMPORT4 doesn't cause
duplicates centroids
size=3>/labels

MAPIMPORT4 command doesn't create object datas
tables automatically, so, before you import the shp file you have to create a
data table with the same fields of the shp's dbf file.

Hope to help you

Paolo
