Providing your version of Map3D, and system specs may help get you an answer. Also what steps are you taking to import?  Srceen captures may show us more on what your issue is.

Hello

+1 with Murph

- Which Windows exactly (XP, Vista,Seven,Eight) ?   32 or 64 bits ?

- Which AutoCAD MAP exactly ?  2014/2013/2012/2011/2010/etc ?

- Which error code ?  Which message error ?

- Your shape files comes from : unknown / AutoCAD MAP / ESRI ArcView/Map / MapInfo / etc ?

- How long are filenames of your shape files ?

It transpired that shape files saved on our work server can only be imported one by one. However, if the files are located on the C: drive first and then imported then I can select all of them.
