How do I remove the "drawing1"

Everytime I start cad and then open an existing drawing, "Drawing1" stays
open, then when I close cad for the day or whatever, it asks if I'd like to
save the chances to "drawing1". Does anyone know how to make Drawing1 close
after opening an existing drawing?

Thanks.

Hi Keith,

AutoCAD Map opens a new drawing (drawing1.dwg ) when you launch the program.
Unless drawing 1 is specially closed, it will remain open until you exit out
of the program. One simple work around is that immediately after Map has
been opened and before you start working with your existing drawings, close
drawing1 (File> Close). Since you have not done any work on the drawing, it
will not ask you if you want to save the changes. From this point on,
drawing 1 will no longer exist and you can go about working with your other
drawings. When you exit Map, drawing 1 will have already been closed and so
you won't be asked if you want to save the changes. Hope this helps.

Why is it that we don't modify "Drawing1" and are still being asked to save
our changes?? Something then when I save a drawing, plot it, then want to
close, AutoCad things the drawing has changed, but hasn't! DO you have an
answer to this?

Sorry Mark, That's not the answer. We don't use the today screen. I'm
thinking Map 4 didn't have this problem.

Hello Keith,

What version of Map do you have? Are you certain
you don't have an automatic script or some other
customization running upon startup? Map should
not be modifying the drawing in this scenario and
you should not be prompted to save Drawing1 here.

Cheers-

Hi Guys,
Can someone tell us what the answer to this one was?
Map 3d 2006 used to write over the drawing1 with the first drawing opened - what has changed? and where is this script? I am only using the standard startup & ctrl-o to open drawings.
Regards
Geoff

I'm having the same issue and would love to know the answer. As far as I know we're not running anything that would modify Drawing1, but it always gives the "Save drawing" prompt. We're using Map 2007.
