Hatch scale

I have two drawings with the same hatch. The LTSCALE in both drawings is 50

The hatch scale should be 150 for ANSI31 hatch type and that is how one drawing is, but in the other drawing I have to have the hatch scale set at 3000 to match the other drawing. If I copy the good hatch out and paste it into the drawing with the wrong hatch, then match the properties, everything is the same, but the hatch visually doesn't match?

Does anybody have any ideas? The units for both drawings is also the same.

Once upon a time (still true?), if you actually SCALEd a hatch object, the
scale property became 'broken' and would act as you're describing. I don't
know if that's still the case or not....sounds like it may be.

The following variables control which hatch pattern file is used.

MEASUREINIT System variable: Initial startup value for new drawings.
MEASUREMENT Drawing variable: Setting for the current drawing.
0 = Imperial = acad.pat
1 = Metric = acadiso.pat

Some commands just draw a hatch using the original pattern calculation (they don't force the pattern to recalculate the lines embedded in the DXF coding): Copy/Paste, Insert . Other commands must recalculate the lines: Hatch Edit, Match Properties.
FYI: similarly changing SnapBase and then doing Hatch Edit, will recalculate the hatch with a new origin.
