Follow up: Importing polygons

Tripp Corbin mentioned in his response to importing shapefilesfrom a geodatabase into MAP

"make sure you have checked the import polygons as closed polylines other wise they come in as mpolys"

My question:

If you do this can you apply a material to the closed polylines>

Currently i can import my shapefiles no problems but now i want to make the scene look like the real world by applying materials and textures, and export using the RDV extension (thanks Natan)

However, i dont seem to be able to apply textures to the polylines

Any help would be great

Thanks

You only apply material to a 3d entity. If you convert the polylines to a
region then yes you would be able to apply a material/texture to them.
