Feature Classification

Hi, I having problems loading feature definition files, they are not showing up in the workspace. When I try and drag and drop from windows explorer, I get the following error
Invalid Workspace format: k:\Utilities\RoadSystem\Roads.xml
When I go through the tutorials, I can load the sample .xml document, but do not have access to any of the properties. I was wondering if I am doing something wrong, or was something not installed properly.
Thanks, Michael Kohler

Hi Michael,

Feature definition files cannot be dragged and
dropped into the Project Workspace.  If you right click on Feature classes
you can select Attach feature Definition from the context menu.  Otherwise
use the command ATTACHDEF or NEWDEF if you are creating a new feature definition
file.

The reason you do not have access to the properties
is because you are not logged in to the drawing session with Alter Feature
Class priveledges.  You can also log in (MAPLOGIN) as
SUPERUSER/SUPERUSER.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
