Extract Text and Markers from FDO Labels

I needed to have some labels from an FDO connection to a shape file as Autocad Text or Mtext. I did a save-as Autocad drawing but only got the visible labels. So I used _MAPLABEL2ANN to get the option to get all the text, visible or not. But I also needed the markers. I did a copy/paste from the save-as drawing to add the markers that had been converted to Hatches to the file with the text. So I have what I need.

I was just wondering if there was an equivalent command that would create the markers in the same fashion that _MAPLABEL2ANN creates the text.

Hello Allen

Is it possible to get an extract of your DWG with its Annotate labels (coming from OD maybe ?) ?

Because my US/English is "not perfect" and I am not sure to well understand your problem !

Hi Pat,

Thanks for responding. No real problem. I got what I needed. I was just wondering if I could extract the Markers defined in the Style I had created for the display of the SHP files.

_MAPLABEL2ANN works well for the text. I thought there might be an equal command for markers.

Hi Allen,

I see in your signature that you are using C3D 2012, if that is correct for today then forget my post.

If you have installed Infrastructure Design Suite and you have installed Map 3D as one of the included products you can start command _MAPTOACAD and use option "visual" ... depending on how you defined the style with the labels (and if it's a point theme or not you might get also the symbol from the label exported into the DWG.

Alfred,

Thank you. I do have Map 2014 as part of IDSP. I actualy used the Editable optioin to produce an Autocad drawing with what I wanted. Better yet. The markers came in as Blocks not Hatches.

Thank you again.

Allen
