Error Creating Map Book

Does anyone recognize the "Error Creating Map Book" message.  It gives no error number just asks if you want to retry.  This has been a problem in at least the last three releases.

Hi Deeter,

Are you working in the Mapbook tab, or from the very old MAPPLOT?  Does it create anything?

Nate,

I use the Map Book tab.  It does not create anything when I get the error.  I have checked to duplicate grid blocks, duplicate grid names, done drawing cleanup and anything else I can think of.  Since I only bring in portions of the overall coverage at a time there are some areas that plot fine then all of a sudden the area I choose won't build.

also, are you using an "out of the box" map book template or one that you've modified.  I've only really had success with the OTB - but I haven't pushed it that far for my own production work beyond the tutorials/skill builders in the map books arena.

I do recall having challenges trying to set up my own template.

I actually modified an out of box template to suit company standard.  I do not think the template is the problem as it has worked before.  I use a custom grid with object data and it also has worked before.  Those are the reasons that this is a problem.  It has worked before and I don't know what happened all of a sudden.

For anyone following this thread.  The answer was that there was an error in my object data.

Post a screenshot of your drawing with an explanation of the error and when the error occurs in your workflow. It would be better if you also started a new thread using a title that describes your error or what you believe is the cause of the error. For best (and fastest) results, upload a copy of your dwg for troubleshooting.
