DBF table

I am trying to join a DBF table to a shapefile. When I go to join the table it askes me to connect it first. First can the join be done in map 3d? How do I connect a DBF table?
Thanks

Carlos,
You can join a DBF to a shapefile as long as you have key fields to join to. You have to set the DBF file as an ODBC source, then connect to that ODBC source in Map. Then it will be available in the join tool.

Here's an example of how to set up the DBF as an ODBC source - just go up to step #3 using your filenames and paths:

And I hope you are not on a 64 bit OS.

Amen. I found this out the hard way - during a training class.

BTW, Murph, I just found the ODBC drivers for 64-bit. You have to run the ODBCAD32.exe from this directory:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

That has all the ODBC drivers on it, and it does work and make data available for the FDO connector.

For C3D it does cause C3D is still a 32 bit, map 3D is 64 bit
