Data Extraction to labels

Can anyone help with this problem:

I have been able to successfully extract object data from imported shape file (basin delineations with basin NAMES, etc..).

I have been successful to create labels (from the NAME attribute) that display just fine as long as i'm in Civil/Map3D.  However, if i open the file in straight autocad (that the rest of the office uses) there are no labels.  I can't simply copy them to another file, they are not copyable.

Help?

Thank you for your time!

Hello from France

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

So you have a FDO drawing with many FDO layers (and FDO labels) ...

If you want to get standard DWG, you must "Export/Save the FDO Map as DWG"

At the Top-Right of the Map Navigator, you have an Icon named "Maps" (maybe) !?

So CLICK on it then Right Button then "Export/Save the FDO Map as DWG" ...

And you will get a standard DWG with one layer for each FDO Layer ON

Do you see that I mean ?

I am starting with a .dwg - i imported shape file into Autocad Map3D 2013.  I have polyline regions that have data attached to them.  I can display these "attribures" within Map3D but want to "export" these so I can use labels, or so they can appear (in the center of each polyline region) in regular autocad (non-Map3D/non-Civil3D).

not sure what software you thought i was working from?  What is a FDO?

Thanks for your reply.

Annotation template make the job by creating a bloc with attributes which are filled with choosen informations form the objet (properties or OD)

Hello

So the question is : are you using FDO features of MAP ?

Please use the command : MAPCONNECT ...

Have you already use this command to connect "directly" to GIS Data with SHP, SDF, SQLite, PostGIS, Oracle, etc FDO Drivers ?
