Converting SID files to Raster IMG files for CAD 09

We have a Map 3D files w/SID images in it. Is there a way to convert this file into an IMG file that my other CAD users can then import? I am the only person in the ofc w/Map and therefore am the only one who can insert/connect to SID files in my CAD program.

I'd like to be able to export this file to a raster image file that they can all use (while still maintaining quality images). I'd like to find a way that i can resolve this within CAD. We don't have Mr. SID conversion program and unfortunately, i do not have administrator privelages to download. ALthough, i've heard this is helpful.

If you have any ideas, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

You'll need an image software. Raster Design from Autodesk is good if you ever need to do rubbersheeting, but expensive. If you just want to saveas another image type, check out Global Mapper. It's $300 and works with all image formats, and does merging, cropping, compression.

If you data connect to that image and then save
that map to dwg using the tool icon on the display manager it creates a png file
from the SID. Only draw back is the resolution of it is at the size it is
displayed on your screen.

If you install the Raster Design Object Enabler on the other systems,
SID (and other formats) become available on the IMAGE command.

I recomend GlobalMapper... its a highly usefull and inexpesive tool. handles any image format, as well as a ton of different vectors and dems. Reproject, crop, styleize, and export to a ton of different formats.

I use it for many things, I import shp files wms connect to get USGS Topos crop and export to GeoTiffs for other programs.

Get large county Rasters, convert to ECW and tile for ease of use in map.

Its really a massively usefull tool.
