Clipping a portion of a Map.

We are in the process of building a seamless Base Map. We will Xref it into a Title sheet for plotting. However our engineers will have a need to use the same map to create thier source drawing when designing new facilities. The problem is some of the Base Maps are very large. They alos are being used as a continuing property record. Is there a way to clip and save a portion of the Xrefed drawing from the View Port?

Try Map's query functionality instead of Xrefing
and/or the Boundary trim command.

HI thomas,

To be clear , as you say base
maps..are they vectors created in Autodesk map (or) raster files? Also as you say
clipping the xref..is the xref containing images?
