Can Map 3 utilize shape files.

i can map\image\insert, however i have had no success in utilizing the shape
files sent to me.

my appilogies, i am running autodesk land desktop, with map 5 menu drop
down. the difficulties i am having is in the utilization of the *.sdw, and
the *.tab files that accompany the *.sid aerial photos provided to me.

any advice twould be greatly appreciated.
