Can Leaders/ Arrow Heads Change with Scales?

Hello,

I am using Map 09 (as part of or Civil 3D 09 package). We are doing a project where we are labeling access routes with arrows.

Presently, I am using leaders for the directional arrows. They are in the base DWG that is XREF by other sheets so to get the road the same between sheets. The problem is that the different sheets use different scales but the arrows are only at a single size in teh base DWG.

Is there a way to have an arrow that will adjust it sizes based on the scale used in the viewport so that the arrow will appear the scale on a sheet using 400scale and a sheet using 100scale (similar to a color or linetype in a plotstyle setting) ?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Look at Annotative styles (Objects) in the help or
the new features workshop under ACAD 20008 .

I tried looking through the help menus but it didn't really make sense to me. Are there are tips you might have? Have you used this before; if so, how did you get things started?

Also, I noticed that I can add scaled but I can't add custom scales it seems. We use 1:400 scale quiet often but they only have 1:500.

I have used them in standard AutoCAD projects not
in map. For map I would use the style editors (both FDO and AutoCAD objects). If
you are working with C3D then use the styles there and set your dwg scales in
the dwg settings. To create your own scale of 1:400 use the scale list edit and
add a new scale.

How would you use/start them in regular AutoCAD? (I tend to use Civil 3D as autocad alot)

I've made the leader annotated via the properties menu and added the scales that we use between the different drawings that reference the leaders. But it seems I have to choose a scale from the list of scales I added...is that correct?

When I tested different scales and xrefed the DWG with the leaders into the main file, the leaders didn't show up so I don't think I am understanding how to assign these scales and such. This process, in the end, should display the leaders as the same size whether the viewport is at 1:100 or 1:400 scale, correct (like the line thickness in a plotstyle setting)?

Is the xref attached, overlay or bind into the dwg?
If is just an overlay I don't think you will get the anno objects to scale up or
down. If you have Civil3D and Map why not learn the tools in them and forget
about the xref all together. Get some use of of the money you paid for them.
