C3D cogo points to Shape file?

is there a better way to export civil points to a shape file than the 'cogo points to block' method? i've been a survey cad tech for more than a minute now, but am really liking Map 3D and want to get into it, see how i can help make the survey dept. a better resource for the company. any suggestions would be appreciated.

No, Civil 3D objects can not be exported to shape format with out converting
them into standard AutoCAD objects first. You can export C3D objects to SDF
then bulk copy to a empty shape file but it requires just about the same
number of steps in not more.
