Block Attribute Updates

Hi All,

I've got an issue that needs immediate attention as to my project deadline is tomorrow!

I've made a few updates to my titleblock using Attributes...before the updates, I've already inserted my titleblock into my drawing with all the current infromation...but there was only one issue that needed to be fixed...As you can see the attached image, my issue is the text alignment...I'm suppose to center it, but forgot to. And so on, I've made that change, my question is How do i update my already placed titleblock to reflect to show the update?

Try the BATTMAN command select the block from the list and SYNC button.

Hey M,

I've already tried that...it didn't update...do I have to make it a BLOCK?...right now it's just no block at all, with attributes attached...when i start a new drawing...I insert it as a BLOCK in LAYOUT space, and lets say I noticed theres a mistake in one of the attributes and I go ahead and make that change in the original file that contains the attribute..resave it as a dwg AND a dwt, went back into my drawing...did the battman, did the sync, the update didn't change...am i missing something here?..

Another way I did was using the ATTSYNC command...that seemed to work for individual changes...but I'd rather say that's a little time consuming there.

If the title dwg was a seperate dwg file that conntained attributes and you
inserted it into your current dwg then you need to open that titleblock
BLOCK in the block editor (bedit command) and make the changes there.
Changing the justifaction in the orginal dwg does not update any dwgs that
it is inserted into. Another way is to delete the bloc and purge it out of
the dwg then insert the edited dwg again.

So then if i did deletion of blocks and reinsert it, that means I've lost all my revision information and etc...? I don't want that to happen there.

Have you tried to open it in the block editor and edit then save?

Yes, I've tried that in Block Editor, resave the new changes, but when I open the drawing, the changes didn't reflect, and that's when I tried using the ATTSYNC command, it doesn't reflect the changes either.

>> but when I open the drawing << ???

If you open the block in the block editor you should already have the dwg
with the block inserted into it open. Post the dwg.

The dwg that you posted "#In Development_PTS_Title Block - D Size", when
inserted into a new dwg works ok, in existing dwgs that it was inserted into
prior to you fixing the justifications you need to: Open each of those
dwgs, use the bedit command and open that block "#In Development_PTS_Title
Block - D Size" make the changes, close the block editor and save the
changes. Then use the attsync command and select the block. Changing the
original dwg used as the block does not update or change any existing dwgs
that that dwg was inserted into.

If you are trying to create a layout template you can open a new dwg, go to
a layout tab and in paperspace insert the "#In Development_PTS_Title Block -
D Size" dwg as a block, then right click on the layout tab, rename it to
D_size or what ever, then at the command line type in LAYOUT select SA for
save as then ender the layout name you just renamed, provide a name and
save.
ALSO for your information AVOID using spaces and periods or other non alpha
characters. IOW rename the titleblock dwg BEFORE you do anymore with it.
