Blank Coordinate System Library

My Coordinate System Library is broken. Nothing in the list in both C3D 2014 and C3D 2015.

In C3D 2016 and Map 3D 2016, everything is there and works fine.

Hi,

have you had defined any manual coordinate systems? If so my guess is they are stored with informations which can't be interpreted/evaluated (whatever word is correct here) from these versions of Map3D/Civil3D.

Take a look in that directory (if it exists):

C:\Users\<your login name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\User Geospatial Coordinate Systems

whereas "AppData" is a hidden folder, you have to type that in or ensure in Windows Explorer settings you can see hidden folders.

If you do have any files in here then move them away to a secure place so you have a backup, but this folder is empty.

When you start now Civil3D2014/2015 is the MAPCSLIBRARY dialog again empty?

Hi Alfred,

Yes, I've been playing with Low-Distortion Projections. I'll try your suggestion right now and see if I can find the culprit.

Thank you.

Alfred,

I pulled these two files out of my User Geospatial Coordinate Systems Folder, but they just magically re-appear, and my Library is still blank:

Alfred,

OK, now I deleted, instead of just moving, those two files. That seemed to work. I'll play with it further, but I think you definitely put your finger on the problem.

Thank you.

Hi,

Wow, can't imagine why that happens .... ahh one option maybe: have you had opened (during the tests) a drawing with a user specified coordinate system? ...(so Map 3D checks that coordinate system in the drawing as "unknown" and so stores the definition again in the user coord folder.

Alfred,

"...Map 3D checks that coordinate system in the drawing as "unknown" and so stores the definition again in the user coord folder."

I think that was what was happening.
