Automatic zoom through Database?

I have imported a 1:50000 scale gazetteer into access and linked it to
Map4.5. The gazetteer contains place names and coordinates. Is there any way
to select a place name so it automatically zooms to it's relevant
coordinates? If anyone can help me I would appreciate it as this will be a
dry run before I try to do the same thing with the National Gazetteer.

Regards

Craig

Where are you trying to pick the name from?

From the attached database, can this not be done?

Sure it can be done, I just didn't know if you wanted to select the database
record or something from the drawing

In the DataView window for the table, from the menu, select
Highlight->AutoHighlight and AutoZoom
Then Highlight->ZoomScale and set the zoom scale to whatever works best for
your drawing

With these options set, select the desired record and Map will zoom to the
object and highlight it.

You don't need the coordinates in the record for this to work, but they are
nice to have at other times.
