Autodesk FDO Provider for Raster problem

Using Civil 3D 2015 SP2: The Add Raster Image or Surface Connection part of the Task Pane Display Manager will Connect to any raster tested (tif format and dem format) but when the Add to Map button is used, no data is added nor does the data layer appear in the Display Manager.

What is missing?

This will be posted in the Civil 3D forum as well.

Hi,

I can't reproduce the issue it with data I have and Civil 3D 2105 SP2 (German).

So I can only give some tips to verify it:

  • try to restart your workstation and so Civil 3D too
  • create a new drawing (if you have your own default template then try a new drawing based on another template too)
  • depending on the type of georeferencing, take just the TIFF (and the TFW file, if there exist one), copy them to a local temporary folder and try to use _MAPCONNECT with that local files (don't use any PRJ or other files at the first try)
  • when using _MAPCONNECT to add the file(s) check the box "Combine into one layer"
  • start command _MAPOPTIONS, go to tab "System" and use "Clear Cache" to clean temporary files used previously.

If nothing helps and you have the chance to upload your data then we could test your data on our systems.

Solved: The problem occurred on some computers we use that were not set up to run Civil 3D as an administrator and by doing so, solved the problem. Now raster files that get connected to in the Task Pane (images/elevation files) not only Connect properly but also now Add to the Map correctly and show in the Display Manager.
