Lost Map Dialog Box

While trying to perform an external query, AutoCad Map stopped responding. After restarting my machine I went to
try my query again only to find that I had lost my Dialog Box. When I try to use my map pull down menus, instead of getting a dialog box I get the options on my command line. This only occurs with the map pull down menu. Any Suggestions??

There are two AutoCAD system variables to
check...

FILEDIA and CMDDIA

Set both of these to 1 and your dialogs will
return. Sometimes when an operation fails, these settings havebeen set to 0
and are not reset because the operation does not complete.

Cheers,

Will

If both FILEDIA and CMDDIA are set to 1 and you're not seeing the Map dialog
boxes, the most likely cause is that the DCL files for the dialogs can't be
found or loaded. That can happen either because something has happened to
the files themselves or because the AutoCAD support path has been changed
and the files aren't being found.

Look for the files acadmap.dcl and ade.dcl on your disk. If the files aren't
there then that's the problem and you many need to repair your installation.
If the files are there, then check the AutoCAD support path to make sure
the directory where the files are located is included in the support path.

Hope this solves the problem.

Gary.

What is the folder these files should be in ? the program files path or the application data support folder?

Thanks.
