Hi All,
I am using AutoCAD Map3D 2014 and I have industry model Electric NA data.
I want to export a selected area/selected featureclass/selected feature to shape file.
Some one please help me and share the details. Do we have any Out of box functionality?. Please share .net api if any.
Regards,
Dayalan

Hi,
To export data to a shape file you have to use the exporter object which is in Autodesk.Gis.Map.ImportExport.Exporter.
I would additionally consider using FME Desktop from Safe Software. You can download the 14 day trial if you only need to do it once.
Hi Rob,
Thanks for reply.
I do not understand the below part. What is the exact command?. Any sample .net code for 'mgfdobulkcopy.dll'?
"SDF/SQLIte can then transformed to SHP (Map FDO Buljk Copy - "out of the box") - not very user freindly but all out of box functionality."
Regards,
Dayalan
Hi Dayalan,
sorry, I think I misunderstood you. I thought "out of the box" means no programming requiered - standard Map functionality.
I'm not aware of any Map - BulkCopy API sample.
In Map - I don't know the command name - you need to open Map Workpane > Display Manager.
Click on the Data icon > Bulk Copy.

Good luck, Rob
If you want to use the API, it will most likely be a 2 part process:
1. Convert the Topobase features to AutoCAD entities with object data.
2. Use the Exporter to export the AutoCAD entities with object data to SHP.
Hi Rob,
Great. i have verified and looks good.
I will review further and get back if anything required.

Dayalan
