XREF visibility in AutoCAD 2007-LT, saved down from 2008

I am currently working in a full version of AutoCAD 2008 and saving my files down to 2000 format so my coworkers can also work on the files in AutoCAD 2007-LT.

When my coworkers open files, the XREFs do not appear. They show up in the XREF manager but are not visible.

How can we correct this?

1. You do not need to save down. Autocad 2008 saves in 2007 format which LT 2007 can read.

2. Are the xrefs saved on your machine? They need to be accessible by all your workers. The best idea is to put them in the same directory as the drawing.
