xref in 3D

I downloaded a dwg file from the internet. Then I modified the text, lineweights, etc. to match my other drawings. When I xrefed it onto a drawing sheet (in model space), the drawing appeared to be tipped in a 3D mode. The lines and text were stacked on top of one another. After going to a SW Isometric view, my other xrefs were in isometric form and tipped down on the screen. The xref in question, although in isometric, appeared vertical and normal. I also tried the insert command, with the same results. What do I do?

Are the UCS settings in both files the same?

No. I managed to change the UCS on the detail, but that didn't change anything else. The drawing was small enough that I drew it and erased the drawing I downloaded. Thanks anyway!
