View ports Autocad lt 2006

I have a paperspace with two viewports.  When I click on "maximize viewport" to enter the drawing space, I am taken to one of the two linked viewport areas.  How can I set a specific viewport as the default to be taken to?

Thanks,

Jeromy

Select the viewport edge/outline (or be inside the one) you want first, then launch VPMAX command with the button you are clicking on.

make sure PICKFIRST variable is turned on: usage explained in HELP in LT.

I understand what you are saying, but my problem is that there is a default
viewport that opens up when I use the button for the VPMAX command. I
would like to change that default to another viewport without having to
select the viewport each time. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Jeromy

There is no default: it either remembers the first viewport created or the last one you are in. It's an unreliable method to try and use constantly.

In LT, you need to be deliberate in your selection. For +$4000, you can customize what you want in Full AutoCAD with Lisp or a reactor or other advanced programming options.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate it. If I had the extra $4000 I would probably be using Revit and not LT 2006 😉

If anyone else has this problem, I've found a solution. The default
viewport is the one which was created first.

I used the Ctrl+Shift+C command to copy the viewport I didn't want to enter
with the VPMAX command. I then deleted it. I pasted the viewport back into
place so the creation order changed. I know this is a silly preference,
but my firm uses a viewport for the titleblock, so we typically have two
viewports and I get tired of clicking the VPMAX button and going to the
titleblock section instead of the drawing I'm working on. I hope this
helps if anyone else has this weird problem.

Thanks,

Jeromy
