following help instructions - vprotateassoc is set to '1', viewport is open but 'r' opens redraw. am i missing a step?
Your post is a little light on details but I'll take a wild guess.
Did you rotate your USC about the Z axis in the view you want to rotate and then type PLAN; C; ?

DJ
...and is the Viewport active and unlocked?

Hi, unless you have changed your PGP file, R is the shortcut for REDRAW. RO is the shortcut for ROTATE. You do not want the viewport active when you rotate it.
Two different items being presented.
Rotate the Viewport which is as you describe here and rotating the way a Rotated Viewport is seen in Paperspace which goes to your point in the other thread.

Interesting. Worked thru that just the other day and needed an Active Viewport to change the orientation of the Modelspace objects being viewed but today cannot replicate.
Oh the oddness of CAD...

Well in this case I think the OP wants to rotate what he is viewing 90 degrees in the Viewport; essentially laying the objects on their side.
The other is what DJ linked to and Post #7. Actually looking at a view that has been rotated 90 degrees: vertically. That thread links to another in the Autocad 2010,11,12 Forum of a similar nature.
